Welcome to the Hard Coded newsletter, where I share my knowledge, thoughts, and firm opinions about the most compelling tech news of the week. 

Oh, and no, I will not be AI-generating Hard Coded. That market is oversaturated.

I started this newsletter because I miss writing about tech news. Yes, I make LinkedIn and YouTube videos about what's trending in tech, but those just aren't the same. I also ghostwrite for tech executives, but that doesn’t quite scratch the itch, either. I’ve known for a while now that I miss writing and sharing my thoughts about the tech economy; I just need to find the right outlet. 

Hard Coded is fueled by you: my readers, friends, and fans. If you're reading this, you may have read my past work at tech publications, from the early days at Neowin and Ars Technica, to TechSpot, ZDNET, and CNET, all the way through to The Next Web and VentureBeat. Or, maybe you simply started reading my previous newsletters, Big Tech News and FiToSci (where Hard Coded's initial subscriber list originates). Or, maybe you missed all that and just watch my social media clips, whether from tech conferences like HumanX and Web Summit, or from my lovely home in Toronto. Regardless, I'm glad you're here.
